Disability ministry
weekend services
Our program ensures children with special needs can join all our Dogwood Kid environments (birth through 5th grade) during our 10:45 service. We support each child by:
- Placing them in their age-appropriate classroom with a trained small group leader.
- Pairing them with a Disability Ministry buddy if needed.
We are honored to accommodate your child. Please fill out the intake form, and our team will contact you to schedule an intake meeting to discuss the next steps.
Safe People
Ensuring the safety of children in our care is paramount. This begins with thorough screening and training of all volunteers and staff. Background checks, interviews, and reference checks help ensure that only trustworthy individuals are involved. Additionally, ongoing training equips them with the skills to handle various situations and maintain a secure environment. All our volunteers ages 13 and up have completed Ministry Safe child safety training.
Safe Spaces
By prioritizing safety, we create a space where all children can learn, grow, and thrive, and parents can feel confident that their children are in good hands.This involves implementing strict safety protocols, such as secure check-in and check-out procedures, regular facility inspections, and emergency preparedness plans. By creating a vigilant and nurturing atmosphere, we ensure that children can explore their faith and build relationships in a space where they feel protected and valued.
Student Leadership
Teach
Empowering students to partner with adults in leading children’s ministry is a fantastic way to nurture their faith and leadership skills. When students take on roles such as small group co-leaders, worship leaders, or activity coordinators, they not only grow in their own spiritual journey but also become role models for younger children.
Learn
Dogwood Students involvement fosters a sense of responsibility, community, and belonging. It also allows them to develop valuable skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. By encouraging students to lead, we create a vibrant, intergenerational ministry where everyone can learn and grow together.
Serve
Love
- Be a member or regular attender of Dogwood Church and a regular participant in good standing with Dogwood Student Ministry.
- Commit to ongoing teen training and Ministry Safe certifications.
- **Middle school students are required to serve with a parent.
